Electrical installations that fit how the property is used
A useful electrical installation starts with the load, location and day-to-day purpose—not simply the nearest place to take a feed from. New work must coordinate with the existing consumer unit, earthing, protective devices and available circuit capacity.
We install practical electrical upgrades for Leeds homes, rental properties and businesses. Every quotation defines the route, accessories, circuit work, testing and making-good boundary so the finished result is clear before work starts.
What our electrical installations service includes
New sockets and power points
Additional sockets can reduce extension-lead dependence and make rooms work better, but circuit condition and capacity must be checked first. We consider furniture, wall construction, cable routes and whether a new circuit is more appropriate than extending an existing one.
Kitchen and appliance circuits
Kitchens can concentrate high electrical demand into a small area. Ovens, hobs, dishwashers, hot-water equipment and other fixed appliances may require dedicated supplies or isolation arrangements. We coordinate with the kitchen plan and appliance specifications before first fix.
Extensions, conversions and renovations
Electrical work should be planned before plastering and fitted furniture. We map lighting, sockets, smoke alarms, heating controls, external supplies and future needs, then coordinate first fix and second fix with the wider programme.
Outdoor power and outbuildings
Outdoor circuits face moisture, mechanical damage and longer cable routes. Suitable equipment, routing, protection and isolation are considered for garden sockets, sheds, garages, gates, lighting and other external loads.
Testing existing circuits before alteration
Adding to an installation is not just a visual job. The relevant circuit and protective arrangements are checked so that new work is compatible. If defects or capacity issues affect the proposal, we explain the options before proceeding.
Recent electrical installations work in Leeds

Electrical installation and maintenance for Leeds homes
Beyond the big projects, most of what we do is the everyday electrical work that keeps a house running well: extra double sockets in a home office, a dedicated circuit for an electric oven or induction hob, replacing a shower isolator, moving a light switch during a refit, fitting USB sockets, adding outdoor power for a hot tub or garden office, and installing interlinked smoke and heat alarms.
All of it is tested and, where required, certified under Part P. Small jobs are priced clearly — a new double socket from £85, an outdoor socket from £120, a cooker circuit from £220 — and listed on our prices page.
Garden offices, outbuildings and garages
Outbuilding supplies are one of the most common installation requests in Leeds suburbs with larger gardens — Horsforth, Rawdon, Adel, Roundhay and Pudsey in particular. A proper installation means an SWA (armoured) cable buried or clipped correctly, its own RCD protection at the house, a small consumer unit in the outbuilding and enough capacity for heating, lighting and equipment. We plan the cable route with you and make good afterwards.
Smoke alarms, heat alarms and landlord installations
Mains-powered, interlinked smoke and heat alarms are now expected in rented property and strongly recommended everywhere else. We install alarm systems to the current standard, including in HMOs where a graded system may be required, and can combine the work with an EICR or consumer unit upgrade to keep the visit count down.
How our electrical installations service works
Discuss the requirement

Check the installation
Existing circuit capacity, protection, earthing and the proposed route are assessed.
Install neatly
Cable routes and accessories are completed with disruption kept proportionate.
Test and hand over
The work is tested, labelled where necessary and documented appropriately.

Electrical Installations FAQs
Can you add sockets without rewiring the room?
Often yes, if the existing circuit is suitable and a compliant route is available. Testing confirms whether extension is sensible.
Can a garage be supplied from the house?
Potentially, but route length, cable type, load, earthing and protection need assessment before a design is agreed.
Do you work with builders and kitchen fitters?
Yes. Early coordination helps prevent clashes and makes first-fix requirements clear.
Can you install customer-supplied equipment?
Sometimes, provided it is suitable, complete and compliant for the intended use. We confirm this before booking.
Will walls need chasing?
It depends on construction and the chosen route. Surface containment, floor voids and existing routes may provide alternatives.
Do small jobs receive certification?
The work is tested and the appropriate documentation is provided for the type of alteration completed.
Do you do small electrical jobs?
Yes — a single socket, a light fitting, a faulty switch. Small jobs are charged from our hourly rate and we group them so you are not paying a call-out for each one.
Do I need a certificate for a new socket?
Adding a socket to an existing circuit outside a bathroom or kitchen is minor work and gets a Minor Works Certificate. New circuits, and any work in bathrooms, are notifiable under Part P and we certify and notify them for you.
Can you fit an electric shower or cooker circuit?
Yes. Both need a dedicated circuit sized for the appliance. We check the consumer unit has capacity first and quote the whole job including the isolator.
